John Rosengard

Founder and President

John Rosengard has over twenty years of experience in the specific area of analysis, reporting, and auditing for environmental liabilities. Throughout his career, he has worked on hundreds of remediation projects and has experience with financial reporting for over 3,300 sites worldwide. He personally developed ERCI's proprietary software, Defender™, which is currently used by numerous Fortune 500 clients' environmental project teams for documenting their environmental remediation liabilities for disclosure, budgeting and business optimization. He has participated in dozens of successful audits of environmental liabilities and over 50 SEC reports of reserve estimates. Defender has been fully integrated into the Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and reporting processes and systems at several US companies. In 2001, he was invited to serve on the ASTM committee which drafted and published the environmental reserve calculation (E2137) and disclosure (E2173) standard guides.

Prior to incorporating ERCI, Mr. Rosengard spent several years at MAECORP, Inc. as a Federal Marketing Manager, OHM Remediation Services as a Technical Writer, and at FMC Corporation as a Business Planner and Product Manager.

Ryan Lafrenz

Manager

Ryan Lafrenz joined ERCI during the summer of 2007. Mr. Lafrenz has over ten years of environmental regulatory compliance and consulting experience in California and Washington state. Mr. Lafrenz has specific experience working as a scientist specializing in marine and riparian ecosystem management, natural resource management, forest resource management and ecological restoration. Additionally, Mr. Lafrenz has a working knowledge of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process and is proficient at quantifying and documenting environmental remediation liabilities, asset retirement obligations and pollution remediation obligations.

With his background in the sciences and his experience in the financial aspects of environmental remediation, Mr. Lafrenz offers ERCI's clients a unique combination of skills to ensure that their projects are properly addressed. As an Engagement Manager at ERCI, Mr. Lafrenz plays an integral role in developing strategic plans and financial solutions for both individual sites and portfolios with environmental liabilities. He currently maintains OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification.

Luke Vermeire

Associate

Luke Vermeire joined the ERCI team as an Associate during the summer of 2010 with over 4 years of environmental engineering and consulting experience. Prior to joining ERCI, Luke worked as a project lead engineer for a large Bay Area environmental consultant. As an engineer, Luke specialized in the design, operation, and optimization of remediation treatment systems and was responsible for the cost estimating and budgeting of numerous projects. In addition to his work with remedial design, Luke offers a wide variety of environmental experiences, including landfill design, regulatory compliance, asbestos abatement, site investigations, and storm water pollution prevention.

As an Associate at ERCI, Luke has been utilizing his environmental background through the development of site strategic plans. Luke also utilizes a variety of ERCI-developed management tools to monitor our client's environmental liability portfolios.

Anna Ching

Associate

Anna Ching joined ERCI as a Senior Analyst in 2008. She has had over five years of diverse environmental work experience in green business certifications, legal services, and financial planning. Prior to joining ERCI, Ms. Ching worked in the non-profit sector conducting life-cycle assessments as a Research Associate. She is currently attending the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Science but promises to keep in touch with ERCI.

Andrew Guerra

Junior Analyst

Andrew Guerra joined ERCI in 2011. He graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. While pursuing a degree at UCLA, he also minored in Environmental Engineering and gained valuable field experience examining the effect of water quality indicators in Santa Monica Bay. In the field, he conducted his own scientific research and assisted other public organizations. As a Junior Analyst, Andrew has been staffed on a wide range of projects related to tracking environmental remediation sites, producing quarterly and annual reports, and reporting environmental liabilities.

Carrie Hollenbeck

Intern

Carrie Hollenbeck joined ERCI as a Finance and Research Intern in the fall of 2011. She has a B.S. in Geosciences from the University of Arizona and currently attends the University of San Francisco pursuing a Masters in Environmental Management, focusing on Sustainable Management and Climate Change. Her undergraduate research involved climate change modeling and reconstructing paleoclimate records. During her time at ERCI, Carrie has been working alongside the team on various environmental remediation projects that allow her to combine skills learned in class with newfound professional techniques and to gain experience in the field.

Michael Bang

Intern

Michael Bang joined ERCI as a Finance and Research Intern in the fall of 2011. As an Intern, Michael has been staffed on a wide range of projects related to environmental remediation sites and compliance assurance tracking. His focuses include VBA development, site strategic planning, and database development. He is currently pursuing a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of San Francisco.
